APRIL 11, 2020
Today is Holy Saturday, the day after our Lord’s suffering
My Lord and Savior was sequestered in his tomb
Alone and separated from the world
Having freed man of his sin but not of his suffering
For forty-three days, I have been sequestered in my home
I have watched millions of people suffer and die
Over 1.7 million sickened, over 500,000 in the US
Over 100,000 deaths, over 19,000 in the US
I may never understand the reasons for such suffering
But I do know that my Savior understands and cares
As I pray before His throne, He strengthens me
In this time of obscurity and heaviness
For he endured the cross for all the world and
The violence that strained his natural body and
The misery and the sickness of his wounds and
His bones being dislocated by his own weight
Yet, he rose and was fully restored to glory
He will release his grace and make everything new
His blessings will flow
His redemptive mission complete
“Behold I am making everything new again” (Rev21:5)
I believe, starting on Easter, his grace and love
Will begin the restoring process of the world
Everything will begin to be “new again”
Let us bear his life, his presence and his joy to the world
