Yesterday we celebrated my Mom’s 93rd birthday
Thank you, Lord for the gift of life
This coming year I will celebrate my 73rd year of life
I have an acute awareness of the end of my journey
Bodily pain, anxiety attacks and sleepless nights
Thank you for your words of encouragement this morning
To live today in the understanding that I am not home yet
Not to fear life’s end but to set my heart on the destination
These days are simply the last steps of my earthly journey
Heading towards heaven where you are waiting
Thank you for your presence in my life
The intimacy of our relationship
Your blessings of protection and prosperity
The opportunity to serve you
Help me to remain faithful and steadfast
I will be called home one day
Where you have prepared a place for me
I hope you will greet me with the words
“Well done, my good and faithful servant”
“Let us celebrate together”
