MARCH 23, 2020

How serious is the weight of my sin?
For your sweat to be drops of blood
No whip, no nails, no wounds
Just the power of your love for me
Your voluntary suffering for my salvation
Your agony poured out on the ground

The Cross was a necessity for me to be saved
There was no other way
My damnation a reality, my redemption a gift
It takes a righteous and holy God to forgive
Out of the purest love for me, to take “away’ my sins
Once for all, One for all, with an eternal finality

I will treasure each moment of my life
That the almighty God has given me
Making Jesus, my Savior, the cause for all I do
For God rules all the places I live and is true to his promises
Without the absolute rule of an Almighty and Sovereign God
His promises could not be carried out

Without his promises, there would be:
No prophets, no angels, no Mary
No miracles, no obedient Son of Man
No disciples, no Scripture, no churches
No unjust trial, no brutal cross
No hope for eternal life

I will celebrate my Lord’s rule over my life
And the truth of his promises
My hope is in the One who has made them
My hope is in the Lord
And in his rule over all things and circumstances
May I never yield to the tempter of my soul
