APRIL 8, 2020

Lord, you took my “sinners” place
Mocked and shamed for my sake
Deserted by your Father and not spared “death”
You would not save yourself to save me from my sins

“Whosoever will save his life will lose it”
“Whosoever will lose his life for my sake”
“Shall find it”

What truly counts in this world is always costly
I must suffer to be blessed
I must lose myself and my pride to be saved
With the hope that I might save others

As You did, so must I follow
To gain your Kingdom, I must give up my world
You conquered my sin, so I yield my soul
By giving, I receive, and win my soul by losing myself

With your invitation comes grace, faith and a promise
Grace that satisfies the deep hunger in my soul
Faith to trust in the “cross” of the Son of Man
And a promise that I shall never die
